Nice looking... I like those side window scoops/louvers. I see he put 4.10s in it... I'm considering a new rear end, and i'm throwing around the idea of 4.10s... It's the only gears that ROUSH offers on their site. I think they may be FRPP, cuz I don't think ROUSH makes/manufactures the gears?

I don't believe that they manufacture them but I do know several people who have went with these. They say it really helps out on the front end but kills your gas mileage.

I thought about swapping out my 3:55 for 4:10s but then thought it would be too much of an overkill. Then I thought about the 3:73 but didn't want to pay that much for just a little gain.

Truth with that on the gains... I have an automatic and only have 3:31s, so initially I do want to go with at least 3:73, but i was throwing around the idea of 4:10s. I still haven't decided yet, but I won't do it yet for quite a while...

I have 4:10's in my '01 Cobra (5spd) and they were fun until I had to do significant highway driving. I was easily running 3,300 -3,400 rpm's, just keeping with traffic. Based on the sound and feel of the car, everyone assumed I was doing like a 100! Serious. It put the Vortech in a "sweet spot",  but ...

I recently went with taller tires, it effectively gave me closer to a 3:73 ratio, lowering my rpm's considerably.

Personally, unless it's a street/strip car only seeing minimal highway speeds, I wouldn't go over 3:73. MPG went from 18ish to almost 20.

Hi Paula,

I really injoyed meeting you and Dave, and I'm glade to find out about this ministry.

Even with the 4:10 gear I get right at 20 MPG. (depending how I'm driving)
I drive 15 miles to work each day (30 round trip) and about 1/2 of them are on the highway. It don't rev that high even at 70 mph. 5th gear is geared pretty high which allows it to be very drivable even on the expressway. 1st gear is very short though.

Driving for Jesus,
Ron

If its an auto 4.10s at a minimum. I had 3.73s in my 98 Gt auto and was not happy.. I went to 4.30s in mine and wish I sooner. Also gas mileage is unchanged except for around town mileage has improved as the lower gear has made it easier to get the car moving from red light to red light.

That is one nice ride and the mods look great.

Mike .. I know you and you never intend to go to the drag strip so stick with the 3:73's or be prepared to spend a lot on gas.
